A live small-group course in SAT Reading & Writing, taught by Dave Walker on Zoom across the final two weeks before the test. Seven sessions on the section's highest-leverage question types and strategies, calibrated to students currently scoring 590–670. Enrollment is limited to seven students per cohort.

The Two-Week Intensive is Walker Prep's live small-group course in SAT Reading & Writing: seven sessions, each 60 minutes, taught by Dave Walker on Zoom, beginning 11 days before a national SAT administration and ending the day before the test. Enrollment in each cohort is limited to seven students.
Two weeks is not enough time to teach the whole section, and the Intensive does not pretend otherwise. It concentrates instead on the question types and strategies with the highest leverage in the 70th–90th percentile band — the material most likely to move a score already in the 590–670 range — taught with the same method Dave uses one-on-one. At the center of it is the Cross-Examiner's Toolbox™, Walker Prep's system of analytical techniques for Core Reading question types.
02Who It's For
For the student scoring 590–670 and seeking 20–50 points.
The Intensive is calibrated to a specific circumstance: a student currently scoring 590–670 on Reading & Writing, seeking an improvement of 20–50 points. For that student, the seven sessions concentrate on exactly the material most likely to produce the gain.
Three boundaries follow. The Intensive does not take up the advanced strategies the most challenging question types require, so a student already scoring above 670 will find limited return here; the Advanced Course, one-on-one, is built for that work. Nor does it provide training in foundational reading comprehension, so it is not the right course for a student below 590. And a student inside the band seeking more than 50 points needs more time than two weeks affords — that is what the Comprehensive Course is for.
03The Seven Sessions
One subject per session, in a deliberate order.
The course opens with Core Reading because the forensic method it establishes, the Cross-Examiner's Toolbox, is the foundation for what follows: Inference and Words in Context extend that method directly — Words in Context tests far more than vocabulary — and both are natural prerequisites to Command of Evidence. Standard English Conventions comes last for the opposite reason: it is the quickest material to learn and the easiest to leverage, so what the Intensive teaches there can be applied immediately, without the longer skill development the reading domains require. The course closes with the shortcuts and traps that matter most on test day.

Session VII meets the day before the test, an hour earlier than the other weekday sessions, so the evening ends early.
Each session runs 60 minutes and ends with open Q&A. Every session is recorded, and the recording is posted to the cohort's space for 48 hours, so a schedule conflict costs the student the live room, not the session. After each session, Dave posts suggested practice and study calibrated to the session's material.

Access runs from the date of enrollment through test day, not merely across the course's two weeks: a family that enrolls early holds the full curriculum for the intervening months.

How do we access the course after purchase?
Access is immediate. Upon purchase, you'll receive brief instructions for logging in to the Walker Prep student platform at walkerprep.podia.com, using the email address and password created with the purchase. From the platform homepage, a link leads to the cohort's course space — the single place where the session schedule, Zoom links, suggested practice and study, and recording links are posted. A confirmation email repeats the instructions. Access to the Mastery Course opens at the same time; the Casebook invitation follows by email within 24 hours.
What if my student can't attend a session live?
Every session is recorded, and the recording is posted to the cohort's space on the Walker Prep student platform, where it remains available for 48 hours. Group sessions meet once and are not rescheduled or repeated, so the recording is the safety net for an unavoidable conflict — though the live room, with its open Q&A, is where the course does its best work.
Is homework assigned?
Suggested practice and study follow every session, posted to the cohort's space and targeted to the session's material. Unlike Walker Prep's one-on-one engagements, where homework is prescribed and required, the Intensive's between-session work is suggested — but two weeks is a short runway, and the course rewards the student who treats the suggestions as assignments.

How is the Intensive different from Walker Prep's one-on-one engagements?
The method is the same; the format and scope are not. The one-on-one engagements — the Comprehensive Course and the Advanced Course — run for months, cover the full section, and are calibrated session by session to the individual student. The Intensive is a group course, compressed to two weeks and concentrated on the highest-leverage material for students scoring 590–670. It serves a focused, near-term gain; it is not a substitute for sustained one-on-one preparation.
What is the refund policy?
Full refund, less a $50 administrative fee, for withdrawals seven or more days before the cohort's first session. 50% refund fewer than seven days before the first session. Once instruction has begun — upon completion of the cohort's first session — fees are non-refundable. In place of a cash refund, families may elect 100% credit toward any Walker Prep course or engagement, valid for twelve months, at any point before instruction begins. Withdrawals must be made in writing (email is sufficient) and are effective on the date sent.
In cases of genuine emergency — documented serious illness, injury, or displacement due to natural disaster — 100% credit applies regardless of timing, at Walker Prep's discretion. Before instruction begins, the credit covers the full fee; after, it covers the unused sessions, valued at $82.15 per session.
Can we transfer to a later cohort?
Yes, once per enrollment, at no charge, any time before the cohort's first session — subject to space in the destination cohort. Once instruction has begun, transfers are not available; genuine emergencies are, of course, excepted, at Walker Prep's discretion.
